Terms
These terms cover tickets, the monthly membership and the two free offers on this site by DanceSimple ("we"). Contact: hello@dancesimple.org.
1. Tickets
A ticket admits one named person to the event on the date printed on it. It is for that date only and is not transferable to another date.
Because a ticket is for leisure on a specific date, the 14 day cancellation right in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply to it (regulation 28(1)(h)). Once you have paid, you cannot cancel a ticket for a refund if you change your mind or cannot come.
If we cancel an event, we refund every unused ticket for that event in full to the card you paid with, and we email every ticket holder to say so.
Show the ticket page on your phone at the door. Each ticket admits once; if you leave and come back the same night, the door helper can let you back in.
Tickets are sold online, on your own phone, up to and during the event. The Fundamentals ticket is sold during the opening month only (the last day is Sun 1 Nov); after that Fundamentals is for members.
2. The bring-a-friend offer
Now and again we run a bring-a-friend offer. While it is on, the London page shows it, and you can sign up for two people in one payment and you both pay half. The conditions are: not on Fundamentals; for a friend who is new to us, so never a friend who is already registered with us; online only, on sale up to and during the event. When the offer is off there is no signing up for two: you each buy your own ticket. Your friend must confirm their details by the link we email them; their ticket is issued when they do. If they do not confirm before the event, they can still be admitted on the day if you are present and the door helper confirms they are 18 or over.
3. A member's friend
A member can bring a friend to an event. The conditions are: the friend registers online first, on the link the member sends them; the friend arrives and comes in together with the member, who is checked in first, so a friend who arrives on their own is not admitted as a member's friend; a member can bring one friend per event, as often as they like; it covers what the member's own membership covers plus the Super Dance Express taster, so the party, the taster, and Dance Express when the membership includes it, never Fundamentals.
4. The free first class
The free first class is for people who have never danced before. The conditions are: register online first; one free class per person, which admits you to one class and the party on the day you come; it is not open to anyone who has already been to one of our events or holds a membership; you choose Bachata or Brazilian Zouk when you register.
5. Membership
The membership is a rolling monthly subscription billed to your card each month by Stripe until you cancel. It covers what is listed on the membership page on the day you join; we tell you by email before we change what it covers.
Your 14 day cancellation right (regulation 30). You can cancel within 14 days of joining, for any reason, by emailing hello@dancesimple.org or by using the model cancellation form.
Your membership starts the day you join: the form asks you to request that, and you do (regulation 36). If you cancel within the 14 days and have not been to an event, we refund the month in full. If you have been to one or more events, we keep the door price for each event you came to and refund the rest; once those door prices add up to the month, there is nothing left to refund.
After that, cancel any time from your account page; the membership then ends at the end of the month you have paid for (the period end), and nothing further is charged. We send a reminder email before each renewal so a charge never comes as a surprise.
6. Conduct and refusal of entry
We run the event for everyone's enjoyment and safety. We may refuse entry or ask a person to leave for behaviour that puts others at risk or makes them unwelcome, and we may ban a person from future events. A banned person is refunded any unused ticket in full and any membership is cancelled at once; that is the only remedy. The door helper will not discuss a ban on the day; the operator will by email.
7. Prices, payment and your data
Prices are shown on the site in pounds and there is nothing to add to them: the price you see is the price you pay. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see your card number. Your name and email are handled as set out in our privacy notice.
