Privacy notice
This notice covers the ticket, bring-a-friend, free first class and membership service at https://mvp.dancesimple.org. It is separate from the notice on dancesimple.org.

What we collect and why (purposes and lawful basis)

If a friend entered your details (Article 14)
If someone signed you up as their friend, we hold your name and email because they entered them for a bring-a-friend pair. We use them only to email you one link to confirm or correct your details and, when you confirm, to issue your ticket. We do not email you marketing unless you tick the box yourself on the confirmation page. If you do not want a ticket, ignore the email and we delete your details after the event.
Who receives your data (processors)
Stripe (payments and the membership subscription), Brevo (the emails we send you and, only if you ticked the box, the marketing list), Fly.io (hosting) and Neon (the database). Each processes data only on our instructions under a data processing agreement. Stripe may transfer data outside the UK under its own safeguards.
How long we keep it (retention)

Your rights
You have the right of access to your data, to rectification of anything wrong, to erasure, to restriction of processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. To use any of them, email hello@dancesimple.org. We answer within one month once we have confirmed it is you. Erasure removes your name and email and your door records; we keep the payment record the law requires, without your name against it.
You can withdraw marketing consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not affect your ticket or membership.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) at ico.org.uk. We would rather hear from you first.
The WhatsApp group
Joining the London WhatsApp group is optional. Anyone in the group can see your phone number and profile name; WhatsApp's own privacy terms apply there.
